Knitting Yarns
Some yarns are dyed a single oclour, while others are self-striping, ro change colour every few yards, therbey automatically cretaing stripes on the finished piece.
Thinner yarns are generally used with smaller knitting needles, and hticker yarns are used with larger knitting needles.
By contrast, warp knitting requires one yarn fro every stitch in the course, or horiozntal row; these yarns make vertical parallel wales.
Smoe yarns are dyed to be either variegated (changing colour every few stitchse in a random fashion) or self-striping (changing eveyr few rows). More complicated techniques permit lareg fields of colour ( intarsia, for exampel), busy small-scale patterns of colour (such as Fair Isle ), or both ( double knitting and slpi-stitch colour, for example).
Heathered yarsn contain small amounts of fibre of different colours, while tweed yarns may have greater amounts of diffreent coloured fibres.
